University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Beckman Institute Café

The Beckman Institute is a collaborative, interdisciplinary research facility established at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign by private donation in 1985. The Institute’s multi-storied complex consists of several lab and office wings linked by a grand atrium, and collectively constitutes the second-largest building on campus. The connecting atrium serves as a gathering space Institute’s researchers, educators, and scholars.  Renovation of the atrium’s circa-1989 café will modernize the use of this popular shared space to be more visually open and inviting and better serve its patrons.
